This is the definition of a delicious Indian hole in the wall restaurant. I can’t understand some of the bad reviews - I eat here all the time, and tried some great Indian food around the world (Europe, India, Thailand, Singapore) and all the “best” Indian restaurants in SF. This is definitely in the top 2-3 in SF and recently finally getting recognition in some of the local foodie articles. It’s family owned for decades and serves authentic Indian food with a homemade style. Great thing is it’s not doused in oil and butter, like most places, it’s really clean and more flavorful without the added fat. Inside its no frills cozy and service is great. You can customize the spice for all the dishes and they got Indian beer with sports usually playing quietly on the TV’s.Butter chicken is the best, it has a deep red sauce full of flavor and isn’t over poweringly buttery like other places - it’s almost like a hybrid tikka masala and butter chicken. I wish it had a bit more chicken though. Mixed vegetable and saag paneer are also delicious.Samosas are also really good - perfect size, crispy slim thickness, and nicely full flavored with spices.Tikka masala is pretty good but not as good as the butter chicken.Don’t sleep on this place - definitely a must try and easily can become your regular go to joint

I was hoping this would be a no frills, "hole in the wall" kind of restaurant that served good Indian food. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing and I feel the need to warn otthers and provide feedback. The 3 dishes lacked flavor and richness. There was not enough cream used in the cooking which resulted in the Tikka Masala having the texture of a blended puree. It was not pleasant. Even the Saag Paneer was lumpy (as seen in the picture). For those wanting a point of comparison, if a Trader Joe's Tikka Masala was a 6/10 ⭐, this would be a 4/10 ⭐. I've had my fair share of Indian food in California, and this was the first time I am disappointed. The place gets good reviews from other folk tho, which surprises me. But don't say I didn't warn you :)!

Fantastic food. Great selection of everything you would want including chicken, lamb and vegetarian. The garlic Naan is a must and the desserts and drinks all contribute well. Service was best I've had in a while. Great local joint.

Cute little India food restaurant, family owned. I talked to one of the owners for a while and they really keep it legit. It has an authentic flavor and good portions for what you pay for. The service was good and the food was hot, fresh and enjoyable. The dishes were packed with flavor and I felt that there was a perfect amount of spiciness to the food. I asked for mild and it was just right!

Came here to try out a new restaurant and the flavor definitely did not disappoint. Everything was on point and very light but filling. Service was a little slow, only because it seemed short staffed, but the waiter was quick to try and help as fast as he could. I think what we liked the most and felt was different here was the garlic nan as it was moist and light. Will definitely be back to try more stuff out!
