My neighborhood has had issues with brown water for several months. Flushing the hydrants does not help and the city is not addressing whatever the underlying issue is. We do not know where to turn and now have to purchase water or go elsewhere for our water needs.
I noticed my bill was high; so, I called customer service and they told me that I have a 1.6 gallon leak since February. I am amazed that they do not alert customers about leaks, they waited until I called to inform me. In this time of drought shouldn't we be able to count on our company to inform us of a leak. I do not like overpaying for anything especially for wasted water. I am that person who uses my bath water to water my plants; so, I care beyond the money but they don't. It wound-up that I never had a leak. My meter was crossed with my neighbors and I was paying for her usage and mine. If ever you want to verify your usage just start using bottled water which is what I did. No one would listen to me when I tried to explain my findings. Eventually, a supervisor was brought in and I was given a year and a half credit. The meter mix-up was resolved, but as a customer I felt abused. I am thankful to God for prompting me.

My story is long and complex. Navigating state government offices can test your patience and drive one crazy, UNLESS DORA MARQUEZ is your representative. She is amazing, tireless, knowledgeable, dedicated, committed to the customer, and listens when most can't be bothered. I would have been without water for a long time if she hadn't persisted in my behalf. I'll always be deeply grateful to Dora. She is a gem. Thank you Dora.

Our road, Camino Rancheros, has been disrupted for over 18 months while the city put in a new main water line which, according to the sign at the top of our street was to have been completed by February 2020! Today, one of the hottest days of the summer, we were without water from 9am to 6:30pm (although the city promised it would be done by 4pm!). I've lost patience and faith in the Water Department and the subcontractor, Sub Surface, who no doubt took the city for a ride!

You have to be patient with the lobby receptionist - her attention span is very short. When she was initially looking at the required paperwork to start water/ sewer service that I brought with me, she accidentally claimed that the required paperwork’s not in order. I showed her that the paperwork was in order. She checked again and correctly agreed. She means well, but you’ll have to watch her.Christina, a water company customer service representative, was very kind and nice. She did a great job in getting my water service going.Note: If you have a Letter of Good Standing by PNM, the local electric company, the water company will waive the deposit fee.
